The studio is nearly complete, with an estimated "live" date of October 31. About half of the construction pictures have been uploaded, the rest to follow sometime before the completion of the project. The details of the studio are:
Construction:
400 Sq Ft
Two rooms- Control Room & Acoustic Room
Double drywall ceilings & walls w/ Green Glue inner layer
2x4 Subfloor frame w/ 3/4" Edge Gold T&G Subfloor
12mm Laminate Wood Finish Floor
Double pane custom window, 1/4" laminated & 1/2" laminated lites
Doors are premium steel entry doors, weatherstripped
Green Glue acoustic caulking used throughout
So much demolition needed, and several iterations on the floor plan up until the day of framing
Electrical:
60A Subpanel w/ 3 Independent Circuits all dedicated
24 channel audio snakes to/from each room to XLR/TR/TRS breakout panels
Track & Recessed Lighting, LED
Fujitsu 2-zone minisplit system (AC & Heat Pump)
Plumbing:
About 200' of copper pipe needed removed due to being installed far beneath the joists. It was all replaced with PEX tubing installed up within the joist bays. Also several PVC drain sections needed moved, altered, or re-run. Estimated about 70 hours of plumbing needed just to be able to begin construction.
The total cost hasn't been tallied up quite yet, but its up there for sure. Thankfully some side jobs came along and helped pay for it.
A whole lot of metal is waiting to be born in these two rooms, and the time is almost here!
